Marmalade @ Bruichladdich (again?)
Walter Schobert

Nerabus, Islay, May 2001
Dear Mr Jim McEwan,
Allow me to introduce myself and explain why I write you. My name is Marmalade and I was Bruichladdich's mouser until 1995. When Bruichladdich was mothballed, it was not only the human employees who lost their job! News of the distillery's re-birth has spread through all layers of Islay life and has re-kindled my hope of once again being a Distillery Mouser. As my esteemed human neighbour in Nerabus will confirm, I have kept my mousing skills as sharp as can be.
Should there be a place in your new enterprise for someone who knows every nook and cranny of the distillery buildings and all the favourite hiding places of the mice on the premises .... you need look no further!
Yours truly,
Marmalade, Bruichladdich's ex - (and future?) mouser
An interview with Marmalade (in German) appeared in the August 1999 issue of Whisky Watch.
